Guangzhou International Group Co., Ltd. ("the Company") is an authorized state-owned assets operating unit established with the approval of the Guangzhou Party committee and municipal government. The company is wholly owned by the state and is dedicated to the operation, management, value preservation and appreciation of financial and other assets authorized by the city government.
Established on December 6, 2001, the Company has registered capital of RMB 2 billion. Under its control are wholly-owned or holding subsidiaries and equity enterprises engaged in industry, securities, trust and real estate. Aiming to realize the value preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets, the Company is mainly engaged
in the realization of replacement of asset forms by making use of capital instruments and through the reorganization of financial claims, industries and enterprises and has formulated its strategy and policies under the guide line of promoting the strategic adjustment of the layout and structure of state-owned economy to form capital operation platform with core competitiveness. With capital as the link, it has explored multiple forms for
realizing the value preservation and appreciation of state-owned assets and tried to develop into a type of industry investment oriented industria l investment oriented financial holding group with core competitiveness.
The main functions of the Company include: To exercise the state-owned assets investors' powers of obtaining income, making important decisions and choosing operators, organize the appraisal of properties and funds, help enterprises get rid of historic burdens, eliminate low-quality enterprises, optimize the asset structure of enterprises, carry out capital operation, realize value preservation and increase of state-owned assets, optimize fund investment, support growth enterprises and exercise rights strictly according to the scope and procedure specified in the Company Law, the Securities Law, Trust Law, Guarantee Law and laws and regulations on the management of state-owned assets.
